Custom Replacement Parts for Twin Screw Extruders

Precision-engineered extruder components — each manufactured to exact specifications for your application. All compatible with major OEM extruder platforms.

Twin-screw extruders use two co-rotating, intermeshing screws to continuously conduct feeding, conveying, plasticizing, shearing, mixing, and pressure build-up for stable and smooth extrusion. The extrusion process is the basis for production in engineering plastics compounding and pelletizing, functional masterbatch and additive processing, polyolefin polymerization and pelletizing in petrochemicals, plastic film, foamed materials, powder coatings, pet food and feed, lithium-battery and new-energy materials, and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The extruder's processing section is made up of three main groups of assemblies: screw elements, screw shafts and barrels. All these assemblies work together to transport, plasticize, mix and react the material.

    1. Custom Screw Elements

Screw elements are processing components that are attached to the shaft and act directly on the material. A combination of elements of different functions generates a screw structure that conveys, melts, shears, disperses, mixes, devolatilizes and develops pressure, each stage adjusted to the operation.

    1. Custom Screw Shafts

The screw shaft is the central spine of the entire screw assembly and runs through the center of the screw elements. It carries and transmits the high torque provided by the extruder drive giving every screw element a steady power foundation, holding the concentricity, rigidity and torque transmission capacity of the extruder screw as a whole.

    1. Custom Extruder Barrels

The sealed processing chamber is formed by the barrel around the screws. It provides the steady thermodynamic environment on which processing depends. Not only is it the housing for the continuous conveying, plasticizing and reacting of material, but it also takes care of heating, cooling, pressure build-up and process control.

Screw elements, shafts and barrels are exposed to sustained high torque, high temperature and abrasive wear. They are the most crucial wear components in any twin-screw extruder.
